IOWA WILD TO RAISE FUNDS FOR HUMBOLDT BRONCOS AT TUESDAY’S GAME AGAINST ROCKFORD ICEHOGS
DES MOINES, IOWA – Iowa Wild will be holding various fundraising efforts at its game Tuesday against Rockford IceHogs to benefit the Humboldt Broncos junior hockey team.
“Our hearts are broken for the Humboldt Broncos hockey team and we extend our deepest condolences and prayers to the entire Broncos community,” said Iowa Wild President Todd Frederickson. “The outpouring support for Humboldt has been tremendous, and our players, staff and fans want to help even more. As such, the Iowa Wild will raise funds for the team, starting with Tuesday’s game against Rockford.”
During Tuesday's game, the Wild will hold a silent auction benefiting the Broncos, with items such as a Zach Parise autographed jersey and Zach Parise autographed stick. Ribbons honoring the Broncos will be available for fans who donate, while supplies last. Also, various novelty items will be on sale in section 124 with full proceeds benefiting the Broncos fund.
Out on the concourse, fans can write messages to the Humboldt Broncos on a banner, which will be sent to the community. Iowa Wild front office, players and hockey ops will also donate additional funds.
There will be a moment of silence prior to opening face-off, and during the game, each Iowa Wild player will wear a Humboldt Broncos sticker on his helmet. Fifteen sticks will be placed on the platform in section 120 to commemorate those lives lost and to show solidarity with the Humboldt community.
The Iowa Wild 2017-18 season is presented by Mercy Medical Center and runs from October through April. For more information, please contact the Wild office by calling 515-564-8700 or by visiting www.iowawild.com.
