RIM TIME WITH RENNER: CBB Buzzer Beater, LeBron Closing In

There is a certain calm before the storm within the ranks of the college basketball world. Just days before conference play, teams all across the nation are gearing up for an exciting season. But nevertheless, there are tremors and rumblings shaking the ground as the giant storm of basketball approaches. Last night, Wake Forest hit a dazzling buzzer beater to beat Appalachian State, 67-66. It was just a taste of the full course meal that begins next month. Seeing highlights like this only sends shivers down my spine. On the 29th, the Hawks battle Nebraska and on New years eve, Iowa State takes on 11th ranked Baylor… bring it on.

The beginning of the regular season has been exciting, but one thing in particular has caught the attention of millions. Lebron is only 800 points away from being the all-time scoring leader in the NBA, passing Kareem Abdul-Jabar at 38,387 points. Despite this legendary milestone for legend Lebron James, his team is being led by Anthony Davis with an underwhelming record of 11-16. They sit at the 12th seed in the Western Conference.

As Lebron and his career continues to reach its twilight, players like Zion Williamson, Luka Doncic, and Ja Morant are budding young stars. In fact, espn media talking heads, like Stephen A. Smith has just recently crowned Ja Morant with the title, “Allen Iverson 2.0.” As controversial as this claim may be, there is no questioning the dominance of Ja Morant as his team sits atop the Western Conference.

The new generation of NBA basketball is upon us, and its birth will be characterized with a broken record from LeBron James, and a title to either the Mavericks, Pelicans, or Grizzlies. Only time will tell.
