Dan Patrick: âSam Darnold was micâd up last night and I was railing against the Jets that they would mic him up against the Patriots as a second year quarterback. Can you turn down being micâd up in a game?â
Aaron Rodgers: âOh yea, definitely. I do all the time. Sometimes you think it could be fun to look back down the line. Brett was micâd up in the game where he passed Marino in touchdowns and itâs some pretty cool audio. I havenât been micâd up in a while. I feel like itâs a little invasive at times. ESPN's is Live and they can play it quickly. The NFL Films ones they can go back and cut it, and theyâre not watching real time and putting it up on the TV. I think that puts you in a tough spot.â (Full Video Above)
Listen to Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers comment on the now-infamous Micâd Up segment with New York Jets quarterback Sam Darnold, where he said on the sidelines that he was âseeing ghostsâ on the field, during New Yorkâs humiliating 33-0 drubbing at the hands of the New England Patriots on Monday Night Football.
Darnold finished the game with one of the lowest QBR scores in the history of the 13-year quarterback sabermetric, going 11/32 for 86 yards, zero touchdowns, four interceptions, and one lost fumble.
Many in the media were critical of the Jets and Adam Gase for even letting Darnold be Micâd Up for the game, as Gase said after the embarrassing blowout that they were going to âreevaluateâ their cooperation with ESPN regarding the segment.
