Patrick Mahomes Is to the NFL Right Now What Michael Jordan Was to the NBA

Clay Travis is reacting to what was an incredible performance on Monday Night Football by Patrick Mahomes. The Chiefs went on the road and beat down the Baltimore Ravens by double digits. On paper, this was a matchup between the two best teams in the NFL, and a matchup between last year's Super Bowl MVP in Mahomes, up against last season's League MVP in Lamar Jackson.

A lot of sports media has hyped up Lamar vs Mahomes as the next great quarterback rivalry in the NFL, but according to Clay, Patrick Mahomes has no rival. He's beaten Lamar every single time they have played, and when you look at all the young quarterbacks in the NFL under the age of 27, nobody comes close to Patrick Mahomes.

Clay calls Patrick Mahomes the Michael Jordan of the NFL. When Jordan was at his peak in the NBA, there were several challengers and a number of teams and players that many believed could knock him off, but that was never the case. Clay argues the same is true for Mahomes. Lamar Jackson, Jared Goff, Baker Mayfield, Dak Prescott, Deshaun Watson and more, all are just challengers, but none are rivals. Mahomes stands alone in this league.
