Former New York Giants head coach Brian Daboll was spotted bracing the cold New Jersey weather on Tuesday (November 11) for the first time since his firing one day prior.

Daboll, 50, was wearing a Penn State Nittany Lions hoodie and gray sweatpants as he appeared to be exiting his residence in photos shared by the New York Post. The Giants confirmed Daboll's firing in a statement shared on their X account Monday.

"We spoke this morning about the direction of our franchise on the field, and we have decided that, at this time, it is in our best interest to make a change at the head coaching position," president John Mara and chairman Steve Tisch said in a joint statement. "The past few seasons have been nothing short of disappointing, and we have not met our expectations for this franchise. We understand the frustrations of our fans, and we will work to deliver a significantly improved product.

"We appreciate Coach Daboll for his contributions to our organization. We wish the Daboll family all the best in the future."

Daboll's firing came hours after the Giants' 24-20 loss to the Chicago Bears, which saw them blow a 20-10 fourth quarter lead and rookie quarterback Jaxson Dart sustain a concussion after previously being evaluated on three separate occasions since taking over as a starter. The Giants had previously lost rookie running back Cam Skattebo and second-year wide receiver Malik Nabers to season-ending injuries in 2024.

Daboll was hired by the Giants in 2022 and won the Associated Press NFL Coach of the Year award during his first season, leading New York to a 9-7-1 record and its only postseason berth of his tenure. The Giants finished with a 6-11 record in 2023 and a 3-14 record in 2024, having lost four consecutive games since their Thursday Night Football upset of the defending Super Bowl champion Philadelphia Eagles on October 9.

Giants offensive coordinator Mike Kafka will serve as the team's interim head coach for the remainder of the season.
